Hi I’m Ali McNamara.
I live in Cambridgeshire with my husband, our two grown-up children, and our beloved dogs.
People often think being an author is a glamorous, exciting job, and indeed it is a small percentage of the time. When you’re launching a new book, off on a research trip, or having your photo taken for a newspaper or magazine it’s very exciting. But the reality is most of your time is spent at a computer wearing comfy clothes; writing, editing or despairing how bad you think your work is that day!

You might not know this about me:
* I have several auto-immune illnesses: UCTD (Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease), Graves Disease and M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.) If you would like to know more about this, visit my “Me and M.E.” page.
* I’m Nosmic – I have a very weak, usually non-existent sense of smell. I lost it when I was a child after I had my tonsils out.
* I believe in Angels, spirit guides and reincarnation…
* I have Ronan Keating to thank for my early writing career – see ‘How I became an author’ link above.
